Weverse Magazine Launches 'Audio Content' Service... Expanding Fan Experience
Weekly Korean Article Reading TTS Service Release
Expanding Fan Experience and Enhancing Convenience Based on Technology
Implementing Natural Voice to Eliminate Awkwardness of Existing TTS
Global fandom life platform Weverse announced on the 14th that it will apply the TTS technology of AI voice solution company Supertone to the K-pop media 'Weverse Magazine'. TTS is an AI technology that reads text aloud. Also known as speech synthesis technology, it is mainly used in devices capable of voice guidance such as kiosks, navigation systems, and audiobooks.
Weverse Magazine is a media platform by Weverse that provides insights on K-pop and K-culture for global readers. It features content such as interviews with artists on Weverse, album and concert reviews, and interactive articles. By starting the 'content to listen to' service using Supertone's TTS technology, it plans to offer an even more expanded fan experience.
In July, Weverse showcased a pilot TTS service in the Weverse Magazine content covering the MIDNATT project, which Supertone participated in, titled 'MIDNATT Meets Lee Hyun's Technology'. Then, on the 11th, TTS technology was applied to the review content of BTS member V's solo album ‘Layover’. Korean TTS service content will be released once a week, and the languages supported by TTS will be expanded.
Supertone's TTS technology is characterized by AI learning the actual human speech style to produce speech without discomfort. The AI learns not only the text but also emotional information to create a natural voice. It offers a more advanced TTS experience, moving away from the monotonous tone and awkward intonation typical of existing TTS that sounds like a machine reading. Texts mixed with foreign words or quoted phrases are read more naturally, enhancing immersion in the content.
