Busan City Hosts 'Youth Day' Event... Operates Promotion Booth for 2030 Busan World Expo
14th at Busan Cinema Center, 16th-17th at Haeundae Gumnam-ro
Exhibition Featuring Eco-friendly Products and Busan World Expo Keywords
Busan City will operate a promotional booth for the 2030 Busan World Expo at the outdoor plaza of the Busan Cinema Center on the 14th in connection with the 2023 Youth Day event, and for two days from the 16th to the 17th at Gumnam-ro, Haeundae.
This promotional booth was prepared to once again imprint the significance of hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo, which will serve as a stepping stone for the new leap of future youth and an opportunity for balanced national development in South Korea, through the 2023 Youth Day event.
The booth will consist of an exhibition of ‘Eco-friendly 2030 Busan World Expo products (goods)’ to convey the theme of the 2030 Busan World Expo to participating youth, and an exhibition of ‘Youth Empathy 2030 Busan World Expo Keywords.’
The interior and exterior of the booth will be decorated with the phrase ‘BUSAN IS READY’ and a wave-shaped design representing Busan.
The ‘Eco-friendly 2030 Busan World Expo products (goods)’ exhibition introduces souvenirs made from eco-friendly materials for sustainable future development, naturally conveying the core and sub-themes and values of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Key exhibited souvenirs include reusable bags and tumblers, as well as pencils made by reusing coffee grounds from daily life and kitchen detergent made using onion skins.
The ‘Youth Empathy 2030 Expo Keywords’ exhibition introduces excellent keywords created under the theme ‘What is the 2030 Expo I Dream Of?’ Visitors can select the keywords they resonate with and post them on their personal social media to receive 2030 Busan World Expo souvenirs.
The excellent keywords were selected through a comment event held over five days from September 1 to 5, where youth expressed their dreams and hopes for the 2030 Expo in six-character phrases.
Additionally, a 2030 Busan World Expo bid support puzzle photo zone is set up where visitors can capture photos showing their support for the bid.
The photo zone features the phrase ‘Welcome Generation,’ referring to the youth generation adapting to future changes and moving forward, and expresses the bright energy of the youth generation determined to host the Expo through a puzzle design.
A notable point in this promotion is the deployment of foreign supporters from member countries of the International Exhibitions Bureau as booth staff.
They will directly explain in detail the values and rationale for hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo, further consolidating youth consensus and spreading support for the bid.
Also, videos capturing visitors participating in the booth and sharing their impressions will be produced to convey Busan, South Korea’s bid aspirations to youth worldwide.
