‘Smart Safe Rest Areas Equipped with Convenience Facilities’... Operated in 3 Parks in Gwangjin-gu
Gwangjin-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced on the 13th that it has installed and started operating smart safety shelters in three parks, the first of their kind among Seoul's autonomous districts, since the 11th. These shelters were created to prepare for heatwaves and cold waves due to climate change and to provide residents with a comfortable and pleasant environment to rest in throughout all four seasons. Three more shelters will be added by the end of next month.
The shelters, measuring 6 meters wide, 4 meters deep, and 4 meters high, are located in Guui Park, Ginkgo-rang Park, and Mugunghwa Park. They are designed as open structures with good visibility inside and outside, harmonizing well with the surrounding park facilities. Natural lighting creates a bright atmosphere, allowing visitors to feel comfortable. The shelters are open 24 hours a day and equipped with CCTV and emergency bells so that anyone can use them safely.
They are equipped with heating and cooling systems, air purifiers, mobile phone chargers, Wi-Fi, blood pressure monitors, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), books, and various other convenience facilities.
