Goheung-gun Wins 'Grand Prize' at Health Promotion Physical Activity Competition
High Ratings in Cooperation, Artistic Quality, Proficiency, and Performance Difficulty
Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it won the Grand Prize at the '2023 Health Promotion Physical Activity Contest' held at the Korea Integrated Medicine Expo Hall on the 12th.
Hosted by Jeollanam-do, this contest featured representative teams from 22 cities and counties within the province, each presenting excellent programs from their respective areas to promote the spread of physical activity programs and enhance the health of residents.
The ‘Heung(興)i Rak(樂)i’ team, representing Goheung-gun, consisted of 18 senior citizens aged 65 and over and 2 children. They delivered an impressive performance at the final presentation, achieving the grand prize.
To prepare for this competition, the ‘Heung(興)i Rak(樂)i’ team voluntarily practiced twice a week since January in the main auditorium and multipurpose room of the Senior Welfare Center under the leadership of Chairman Jeong Yoon-jong. From July, they brought in professional instructors to complete a creative work.
As a result of their efforts, the ‘Heung(興)i Rak(樂)i’ team received high evaluations in categories such as teamwork, creativity, proficiency, performance difficulty, and audience response during the contest.
A county official stated, “We will continue to discover and expand various physical activity programs so that the elderly and all residents of Goheung-gun can be healthy and full of vitality, striving to make ‘Goheung, where residents are happy.’”
