Sancheong Anti-Aging Expo Prepares to Enter the Global Market with K-Anti-Aging
50 Buyers from 13 Countries Invited
Export Consultation Event to Be Held
The Organizing Committee of the 2023 Gyeongnam Sancheong World Traditional Medicine Anti-Aging Expo will host a business meeting, inviting overseas buyers for companies participating in the Oriental Medicine Anti-Aging Industry Pavilion (hereinafter referred to as the Industry Pavilion) during the Expo.
This export consultation event will be held over three sessions on a total of six days-September 18-19, October 5-6, and October 12-13-to provide more opportunities for participating companies in the Industry Pavilion.
In particular, to establish an export base for companies related to oriental medicine and anti-aging and to support the development of new sales channels in the rapidly changing export environment, 50 buyers from 13 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, China, and Japan, are scheduled to participate.
Since last year, the Organizing Committee has signed business agreements with anti-aging institutions in the province to attract companies to the Industry Pavilion and has received advice and cooperation for attracting both domestic and overseas companies. Based on this, the committee directly visited target companies to conduct promotional activities and listened to the current status and difficulties faced by these companies.
Local businesspeople confirmed the need to establish an export base for oriental medicine and anti-aging companies and suggested that inviting genuine buyers who can provide practical support for exports is essential. The committee also identified the demand for holding the export consultation event.
Based on this, the Organizing Committee conducted a preliminary survey on the buyers that participating companies wished to invite, actively recruiting the requested buyers to operate a demand-oriented export consultation event tailored to the needs of participating companies.
In addition, the committee made efforts to attract high-purchasing-power buyers by actively utilizing the overseas buyer networks of credible partner organizations such as the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, KOTRA overseas offices, and Gyeongnam Province overseas offices.
To increase the likelihood of export agreements, the committee provided buyers with advance information about participating companies and their products, conducted prior research on the characteristics of each participating company, and completed preparations for efficient consultations by facilitating pre-information exchange and customized consultations through one-on-one business matching between interested buyers and participating companies.
Based on the information provided in advance, one-on-one face-to-face consultations will be conducted to ensure optimal meetings between buyers and companies.
Meanwhile, at the Industry Pavilion where the export consultation event will take place, a total of 138 companies-including leading domestic companies and research institutions such as Kwangdong Pharmaceutical, Saimdang Cosmetics, Pusan National University Korean Medicine Hospital, Wonkwang University Korean Medicine Hospital, Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine, and the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development-will participate, along with local bio, cosmetics, beauty, and sixth industry star and small but strong companies such as Insanga, Cheonggang, Dream Farm, HK Biotech, and Gagopa Healing Food.
Among them, about 60 domestic companies producing oriental medicine and anti-aging related products such as health (functional) foods, processed oriental medicine products, cosmetics and beauty products, biopharmaceuticals, and bio-healthcare products are expected to participate in the export consultation event with overseas buyers.
Park Jeongjun, Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee, said, "We hope that this export consultation event will serve as a stepping stone for pioneering new markets for oriental medicine and anti-aging related products and contribute to boosting exports for related companies in the province."
