Saneun Union: "President Yoon's External Pressure on Busan Relocation... We Will Hold Him Legally Responsible"
Allegations of External Pressure on Outsourced Consulting Services
"Will Reveal at the National Assembly Audit"
The Korea Development Bank (KDB) labor union claimed that President Yoon Suk-yeol and the People Power Party exerted pressure during the external consulting process carried out in the course of relocating KDB to Busan.
On the 12th, the KDB branch of the Financial Industry Union held a press conference in front of the Yongsan Presidential Office, stating, "President Yoon and the People Power Party manipulated the external consulting service to achieve the political goal of relocating KDB to Busan," and urged, "Completely cancel the Busan relocation consulting."
They pointed to remarks made by People Power Party leader Kim Gi-hyeon during his visit to Busan on the 7th as evidence of external pressure. At the time, Kim said at the "On-site Meeting for Measures to Enhance Busan's Financial Competitiveness," "In fact, the relocation of KDB to Busan was strongly directed by President Yoon earlier this year," adding, "The president expressed a strong will, and during the preparation of the consulting report, there was also an order to push the Busan relocation unconditionally as Plan A."
In response, the KDB labor union stated, "It has been proven that there was presidential pressure during the consulting process commissioned to Samil PwC from February to July," and added, "We will expose all illegal and unlawful acts during the National Assembly audit and hold those responsible legally accountable."
