Korea Exchange Signs MOU with Inter-American Development Bank for Cooperation in Latin American Capital Markets
The Korea Exchange (KRX) announced on the 12th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on mutual cooperation with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
This MOU was conducted as part of efforts to expand exchanges between the Korean and Latin American capital markets. Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation through organic information sharing and project development in areas such as capital market policies and sustainable finance for the sustainable development of the Korean and Latin American capital markets. The MOU includes joint research related to Latin American capital markets, training programs inviting Latin American capital market stakeholders, and joint seminars.

At the MOU signing ceremony with the IDB, Son Byung-doo, Chairman of the Korea Exchange, said, "Through the promotion of cooperative projects between KRX and IDB, it is expected that cooperation between financial institutions in both regions, such as securities firms and asset management companies, will be further activated," adding, "By expanding mutual investment and corporate exchanges, we will be able to further solidify the economic cooperation relationship between Korea and Latin America beyond the capital markets."
Ilang Goudfaying, President of the IDB, emphasized, "KRX's experience and knowledge related to capital markets are expected to greatly contribute to the development of Latin American capital markets," and added, "KRX is an important partner of the IDB for the sustainable development of Latin American countries."
