From the 19th, 'Gyeongbuk Disabled Skills Competition'... Pilot Introduction of Mobile App Development and Video Content Production Jobs

From the 19th for four days, the Gyeongsangbuk-do National Disabled Skills Competition will be held. This year, 13 new categories such as mobile app development and video content production will be introduced as pilot events.
On the 11th, the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled announced that the "40th Gyeongsangbuk-do National Disabled Skills Competition" will take place from the 19th to the 22nd at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center (HICO).
The Disabled Skills Competition is held annually to encourage skill improvement among people with disabilities, promote social and corporate awareness and interest in employing people with disabilities, and expand employment opportunities for them.
This year’s competition includes a total of 39 categories: 18 regular categories reflecting industrial society’s vocational skill demands such as visual design; 13 pilot categories including bicycle assembly, mobile app development, video content production, and character design; and 8 leisure and lifestyle skill competitions such as nail art and hanji craft. A total of 447 participants from 17 cities and provinces nationwide will compete.
Winners of the skills competition will be selected for gold, silver, and bronze medals, one each, and one highest scorer excluding the medalists will receive an encouragement award. Prize money is 12 million KRW for gold, 8 million KRW for silver, 4 million KRW for bronze, and 1 million KRW for the encouragement award. For pilot categories, gold, silver, and bronze winners will also be awarded medals and prize money ranging from 2 million to 6 million KRW.

Gold, silver, and bronze medalists are exempted from the written and practical tests for the relevant vocational technician qualification for two years from the date of winning, except for those who do not hold the related national technical qualification. Additionally, winners in each category will qualify to participate in the selection trials for the national team of the 11th International Abilympics.
