Yoon's Approval Rating Slightly Rises to 36.7%... "Overseas Trip Effect" [Realmeter]
Positive Ratings Rise 1.3%p Compared to Previous Week Due to Tour Effects
Party Support: People Power 36.8% vs Democratic Party 44.2%
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration has slightly increased, according to a recent public opinion poll.
On the 11th, Realmeter conducted a survey commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper from August 4 to 8, targeting 2,515 voters aged 19 and older nationwide. The results showed that positive evaluations of President Yoon's administration rose by 1.3 percentage points from the previous week to 36.7%. Realmeter attributed this increase to the recent overseas trips. Negative evaluations decreased by 1.2 percentage points to 59.9%.
The approval rating has been fluctuating between 35% and 37% for four consecutive weeks since the second week of August.
By region, approval ratings increased in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong (4.9%p), Daegu and Gyeongbuk (3.0%p), Seoul (2.8%p), Gwangju and Jeolla (1.2%p), and Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (1.2%p).
By age group, ratings rose among those in their 30s (10.3%p) and 20s (1.5%p), while it declined among those aged 70 and above (5.5%p).
The margin of error is ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. Realmeter explained that the regular weekly survey's commissioning agency changed from Media Tribune to Energy Economy Newspaper starting this week.
Regarding party support (survey conducted August 7?8, targeting 1,002 voters aged 18 and older nationwide), the People Power Party received 36.8%, and the Democratic Party received 44.2%. Support for the People Power Party increased by 0.6 percentage points compared to the previous survey (August 24?25), while the Democratic Party's support remained the same.
The Justice Party dropped by 0.2 percentage points to 3.0%, and the proportion of undecided voters decreased by 1.5 percentage points to 13.0%. The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
