Suncheon National University’s ‘Visiting College Admission Briefing and Mock Screening’ Receives Positive Reviews
Shinan, Wando and Other Island Areas Featured in College Admission Information Sessions 'Eye-Catching'
Suncheon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) announced that it successfully concluded the 2024 College Entrance Exam Preparation “Visiting College Admission Briefing & Mock Screening” program with the final schedule held at Yeosu Technical High School on the 6th.
The Admissions Office of Suncheon National University operated a total of 65 college admission briefings and open mock interview programs across the entire Jeonnam region including Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang, as well as the nearby Gwangju, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongnam areas, receiving great responses from local examinees.
In particular, this year, the program was continuously conducted by directly visiting island region high schools such as Nohwa High School, Docho High School, Wando Geumil High School, and Ha-ui High School, where geographical characteristics impose limitations on information acquisition, contributing to the realization of equal educational opportunities within the local community.
Regarding the program, Sim Ki-hoon, Director of Admissions at Suncheon, stated, “We focused the college admission briefings on major changes compared to last year, such as the expansion of the recruitment ratio for local talent selection and changes in the method of reflecting career choice subjects.” He added, “We hope it was a beneficial time that provided practical help to local high school students preparing for university admission.”
Meanwhile, Suncheon National University will conduct early admission application submissions for a total of 1,716 students from Monday (the 11th) to Friday (the 15th) at 18:00. Despite the ongoing decline in the school-age population, the university has maintained a continuous increase in the freshman enrollment rate over the past three years, earning a reputation as a “university that local examinees want to attend.”
