Gwangju Buk-gu Ranks 'No.1 Nationwide' in Community Oral Health Project Evaluation
On the 5th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it was the only district nationwide to receive the Grand Prize in the '2023 Community Oral Health Project Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Community Oral Health Project Evaluation is an assessment aimed at discovering and spreading excellent cases of oral health promotion among local governments nationwide to encourage the activation of oral health projects. This year, 15 local governments were selected as excellent institutions based on the validity, effort, and effectiveness of their projects.
In this evaluation, Buk-gu was recognized for significantly contributing to the revitalization of oral health projects by promptly resuming oral health services that had been suspended due to COVID-19 and by implementing customized projects considering the characteristics of areas densely populated by socially vulnerable groups.
In particular, the projects targeting people with disabilities and low-income groups?such as ▲Total Oral Health Care ▲Oral Care for Children with Disabilities ▲Oral Health Center in My Hand ▲Child Dental Primary Care?received high praise for effectively reducing oral health disparities caused by income levels, earning the honor of the Grand Prize awarded to only one local government.
The award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Excellence Case Performance Conference on the 22nd at the Sono Felice Convention Center in COEX, Seoul.
