Gwangju Seo-gu 'Jajeongeo Gochireo Gandangke' Operation Resumes

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) will resume the operation of ‘Jajeongeo Gochireo Gandangkke’ in the second half of this year to promote bicycle use.

Seo-gu announced on the 5th that bicycle repair services will be provided every Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Seo-gu Office and 18 district base locations.

The bicycle repair service is available to all citizens and offers free inspections of safety devices such as chains, gears, and brakes, as well as simple maintenance services including lubrication, air inflation, and puncture repairs at no cost.

On weekends, Seo-gu will also provide free inspections and minor repairs for bicycle riders using the Gwangju Stream riverside at the Yeongsangang Bicycle Path Information Center and under Dongcheon Bridge, where free bicycle rentals will also be available.

Park Jongcheol, head of the Climate and Environment Division at Seo-gu Office, said, “Through this project, we aim to promote bicycle use, prevent the occurrence of abandoned bicycles, and make further efforts to foster a proper bicycle culture and improve user convenience.”

Meanwhile, Seo-gu has been conducting the annual mobile bicycle repair project for 13 years since 2010, completing 1,691 repairs in 2020, 2,332 in 2021, 2,352 in 2022, and 1,158 in the first half of 2023.
