People Power Party Appoints 10 Organization Chairpersons Including Kim Seong-tae and Oh Shin-hwan
The remaining 26 locations will continue to be reviewed
The People Power Party announced the appointment results for 10 out of 36 newly recruited district organization chiefs ahead of next year's general election on the 31st.
On the same day, the People Power Party held an on-site Supreme Council meeting in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, and confirmed 10 new organization chiefs recommended by the Party Organization Strengthening Special Committee. The 10 appointed organization chiefs will be officially appointed as district chiefs through party member councils. Becoming a district chief can provide an advantage in the nomination competition for next year's general election.

View original imageKang Min-guk, the senior spokesperson of the People Power Party, told reporters after the Supreme Council meeting, "We appointed 10 people nationwide: 3 in Seoul, 1 in Daejeon, 1 in Sejong, 3 in Gyeonggi, 1 in Chungnam, and 1 in Jeonbuk."
The Supreme Council confirmed the appointments of former lawmaker Kim Sung-tae for Gangseo-eul, Seoul, and former Seoul Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs Oh Shin-hwan for Gwangjin-eul, Seoul. Lee Seung-hwan, former administrative officer at the Presidential Office's Political Affairs Secretariat, was selected for Jungnang-eul, Seoul.
Go Seok, a lawyer who is a junior alumnus of President Yoon Seok-yeol from Seoul National University Law School and a classmate from the Judicial Research and Training Institute, was appointed for Yongin-byeong after competing with incumbent proportional representative lawmaker Seo Jeong-sook. Lawyer Jeong Pil-jae, a former prosecutor, was confirmed for Siheung-gap, Gyeonggi.
For Danwon, Ansan City, former Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member Seo Jeong-hyun was appointed; for Asan-si-eul, Chungnam, former Deputy Mayor Cheon Man-gwon was appointed; for Jeonju-si-eul, Jeonbuk, two-term People Power Party lawmaker Jeong Un-cheon was appointed; for Sejong-si-gap, lawyer Ryu Je-hwa, former chairperson of the People Power Party Sejong Special Self-Governing City Party, was appointed; and for Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, lawyer Park Kyung-ho, former head of the Central Investigation Division 1 at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, was appointed as organization chief.
Meanwhile, the Party Organization Strengthening Special Committee postponed recommendations for new organization chiefs in 26 districts, including Mapo-gap where incumbent lawmakers Lee Yong-ho and Choi Seung-jae are competing, Seodaemun-eul, Seoul, supported by former Deputy Mayor Song Ju-beom, Bundang-eul, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, supported by party spokesperson Kim Min-su, and Uijeongbu-gap, Gyeonggi, where proportional representative lawmaker Choi Young-hee and former MBN anchor Jeong Gwang-jae applied.
