Hapcheon-gun Provides Free Veterinary Care for Hanwoo and Beekeeping Farms
Free Mobile Veterinary Care and Disinfection Support for Livestock in Disease-Vulnerable Areas
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 31st that it conducted free livestock mobile medical services for Hanwoo cattle farms and beekeeping farms in Gaya-myeon.
The county conducts these services sequentially every year targeting Hanwoo and beekeeping farms in 17 eup and myeon areas, and this year it was carried out in Gaya-myeon.
This free mobile medical service was conducted to prevent various livestock infectious diseases caused by immune suppression and consumptive diseases due to summer heatwaves and frequent heavy rains.
About 30 people including staff from the Gyeongsangnam-do Animal Quarantine Division, the county Livestock Division, and county public veterinarians participated, and Hapcheon-gun and the county public veterinarians jointly formed a medical team to conduct disease surveillance, summer feeding management guidance, and simple medical treatment for Hanwoo cattle farms in Gaya-myeon (169 households, 5,301 heads).
In particular, the Gyeongsangnam-do Animal Quarantine Division and the Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory spared no support for the free livestock mobile medical service. To improve the productivity of livestock with reduced immunity due to continuous heatwaves and frequent heavy rains and to produce healthy livestock products, medicines worth about 20 million KRW including calf diarrhea prevention drugs and immune enhancers among four items were also supplied free of charge.
