LGU+ Hosts 'Youth Festival' in Collaboration with 8 Universities Nationwide
LG Uplus announced on the 27th that it successfully held the university alliance festival ‘Youth Semester-Start Festival (Youthfe)’.
Youthfe, held from 1 PM to 6 PM the previous day at S Factory Building D in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, was attended by 800 students, with 100 students from each university. The eight universities were selected based on the number of applicants in the online pre-event ‘University Youth Power Competition’ held on the Youth website in July, in the order of the most applicants (Gachon University, Ewha Womans University, Sookmyung Women’s University, Duksung Women’s University, Sungkyunkwan University, Pusan National University, Yonsei University, Kookmin University).
The pre-event saw participation from students enrolled in 260 universities, accounting for 77% of the 336 universities nationwide, and posts, shares, likes, and comments related to Youthfe on social media totaled 1.32 million, showing great popularity. In particular, Pusan National University’s student council and broadcasting station departed for Seoul early that morning to attend Youthfe.
At the event, participants took photos to capture their unique youth power at LG Uplus’s 20s-exclusive brand ‘Uth Brand Photo Zone’ set up in the event hall lobby, and took commemorative photos at the photo booth. Along with this, they enjoyed various experience zones such as the ‘Uth Brand Play Zone’ to learn about the Uth brand through games, the ‘Uth Food Zone’ offering food from Uth’s partners Domino’s Pizza, Heineken, Ben & Jerry’s, and Waffle University, and the ‘Uplus ESG Zone’ where they participated in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activities through recycling while enjoying the festival. Items used at the event, such as banners, will be reborn as ‘Uplus’ recycling goods.
From 3 PM, the university-specific ‘Youth Power Competition’ was held for an hour, with various games hosted by MC Seobyi. Winners of each game received gifts such as the Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Buds2, and Galaxy Watch6. Following this, from 4 PM, performances by artists loved by people in their 20s, including Zion.T, HolyBang, and JUSTHIS, took place.
LG Uplus plans to hold an event during the second semester offering special Youth benefits to Ewha Womans University, Sookmyung Women’s University, and Gachon University, which were selected as the top three universities in Youth Power after Youthfe ended.
