Forget the Annoying TV Cables... LG Electronics Launches Wireless OLED TV Series in Europe
97-inch, 83-inch, and 77-inch Ultra-Large Wireless OLED TV Series
New Premium LCD TV 'LG QNED' Also Released
LG Electronics announced on the 27th that it has launched the world's first wireless OLED TV series in Europe. This follows its entry into the North American market earlier this month.
LG Electronics revealed market research firm Omdia's findings that shipments of ultra-large TVs 75 inches and above worldwide are expected to grow by 20% compared to the previous year. LG Electronics judged that there is strong demand for ultra-large premium TVs.
The world's largest 97-inch (screen diagonal approximately 245 cm) TV features the world's first 4K 120 Hz wireless transmission solution. The series also includes 83-inch and 77-inch wireless OLED TVs.
The flagship model, LG Signature OLED M, applies a wireless audio-video (AV) transmission solution, eliminating all cables except for power. The product consists of a 'Zero Connect Box.' The Zero Connect Box wirelessly transmits high-definition video at 4K (3840×2160) resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate within approximately 10 meters from the front of the screen. TV peripherals can be connected to the Zero Connect Box located in the living room or next to the sofa, eliminating the need for a storage cabinet for peripherals.

Overseas media reactions to the LG Signature OLED M have also been positive. The US media outlet Tom's Guide selected it as the best new product of the year, calling it "the perfect product for customers who want to keep their space neat." The US media outlet 'Twice' said, "The wireless technology applied to LG Electronics' masterpiece OLED TV offers both beautiful design and an excellent viewing experience."
LG Electronics is also producing premium LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs under the 'LG QNED TV' brand. Including new products launched this month in the North American and European markets, it operates a lineup of 22 models across six series this year. Models 75 inches and above account for half of the lineup. The products apply proprietary Wide Color Gamut (WCG) technology and Quantum Dot (QD) NanoCell color technology. By simultaneously utilizing Quantum Dot and NanoCell materials, they express more refined colors.

LG is also strengthening content competitiveness based on its smart TV platform webOS. The number of subscribers to the free content service 'LG Channels' has increased from about 20 million at the beginning of last year to about 50 million currently. In this regard, CEO Jo Joo-wan announced last month that the company will transform its business model from a product company to a media & entertainment platform company.
Region-specific customized content has been well received. In the US, subscribers can enjoy NCAA college football and basketball, while in Europe, OTT (video streaming) service 'Rakuten TV' offers free movies, dramas, and other content.
