Gwangjin-gu Awards Scholarship Certificates to 58 Scholars
On the 22nd, at the Gwangjin-gu Office Auditorium, Gwangjin-gu Mayor Kim Kyung-ho and 58 scholarship committee attendees, including high school and university students, were awarded scholarships totaling over 110 million KRW
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the '2023 Gwangjin-gu Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony' on the 24th at the Gwangjin-gu Office auditorium.
The district selected 23 high school students and 35 university students as scholarship recipients and awarded scholarships totaling over 110 million KRW. High school students received 1 million KRW each, while university students received 2.5 million KRW each.
The scholarship recipients were students from the local area who demonstrated excellent academic performance or exemplary conduct, recommended by school principals and neighborhood chiefs, and selected according to criteria set by the Gwangjin-gu Scholarship Committee.
The award ceremony was organized to encourage students to grow as future talents of the local community.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu and members of the Gwangjin-gu Scholarship Committee attended the ceremony and presented scholarship certificates to a total of 58 high school and university students.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, "I deeply thank the scholarship committee members who have long prepared the scholarship fund with the hope that students can pursue their dreams without worries or concerns."
He added, "We will spare no support to help students fully demonstrate their capabilities."

Meanwhile, since its establishment in 1996, the Gwangjin-gu Scholarship Foundation has consistently provided scholarships annually to nurture outstanding local talents. To date, it has supported 747 individuals with over 1.04 billion KRW.
