Since 2011, the Exchange has operated the KRX University Student Financial and Character Education Volunteer Group to promote financial and character education for children from low-income families. Over the past 12 years, a total of 1,246 university student volunteers have provided financial and character education to 17,913 elementary school students nationwide.
This year, 212 university students applied for the KRX University Student Volunteer Group, recording a high competition rate of 4.3 to 1, and 50 were finally selected considering their passion for learning and volunteering.
The university student volunteer group will be dispatched to 52 children's centers (in the Seoul metropolitan area and Busan-Gyeongnam region) with limited financial education opportunities from September for three months, conducting 10 sessions of financial and character education at each center.
Additionally, the KRX National Happiness Foundation newly developed experiential educational content combined with games to help elementary school students participate in classes easily and enjoyably.
