Eunpyeong District (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that the 'Eunpyeong District Residents' Culture and Arts Competition,' where residents can showcase their talents and passion, will be held.
The competition is open to anyone who is a resident of Eunpyeong District or works or studies in Eunpyeong District. The event is hosted by the Eunpyeong Nuri Festival Promotion Committee for the singing and dance contests, the Eunpyeong District Orchestral Association for the orchestral competition, and the Sabina Art Museum for the art competition.
The competition will be held in four categories: ▲Neighborhood Singing Contest ▲Street Dance Competition ▲Orchestral Music Competition ▲Art Contest. The finals will be held on a special floating stage at Bulgwangcheon Stream, and the art contest will take place at the Sabina Art Museum.
The 'Neighborhood Singing Contest' will be held on October 6. Applications will be accepted from September 7 to 13, and the preliminary round will take place on September 16 at the Eunpyeong Culture and Arts Center. Each participant will perform one song, and 16 individuals or teams will be selected to advance to the finals. The judging panel for both preliminary and final rounds includes composer Cha Tae-il and two others.
The 'Street Dance Competition' covers dance genres such as broadcasting, hip-hop, and b-boying and will be held on October 14. Applications are accepted from September 7 to 13, with preliminaries on September 16. Individual participants may perform pieces up to 2 minutes, and teams up to 3 minutes. Three members of the dance team 'Hook' will serve as judges for both preliminary and final rounds.
The 'Orchestral Music Competition' will be held on October 6 at the special floating stage on Bulgwangcheon Stream. There will be no preliminary round, and participants may perform pieces approximately 15 minutes in length.
The 'Art Contest' will accept applications from September 1 to 15, with the awards ceremony on October 8. The artwork must be in 4-cut paper size paintings. Fifty selected finalists, chosen through expert judging, will have their works exhibited at the Sabina Art Museum from October 7 to 14.
Prizes for each competition are ▲1st place: 1 team, 1,000,000 KRW ▲2nd place: 1 team, 500,000 KRW ▲3rd place: 1 team, 300,000 KRW ▲Encouragement awards: 5 teams, 200,000 KRW each, sponsored by Shinhan Bank.
To participate, applicants must download the application form from the district website, fill it out, and submit it via email. If email submission is difficult, applications can be submitted at the local community service center, and art contest entries can be submitted at the Sabina Art Museum.
