Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) has rolled up its sleeves to operate ‘Safe Parcel Lockers’ and provide ‘Illegal Filming Inspection Device Rental Service’ to protect residents from crime and create a safer living environment.
‘Safe Parcel Lockers’ are a non-face-to-face service that allows residents to safely receive parcels through unmanned lockers without meeting strangers. Residents who find it difficult to receive parcels at home, such as single-person households or dual-income families, or who prefer contactless parcel receipt can use the safe parcel lockers free of charge.
Currently, Yeongdeungpo-gu operates a total of 12 safe parcel locker locations, including ▲Dangsan 1-dong Green Care Center ▲Singil 5-dong Yeongdeungpo No.1 Sports Center ▲Daerim 3-dong Daerim Information and Culture Library ▲Singil 1-dong Community Service Center ▲Dorim-dong Community Service Center. These are located in places with high resident accessibility and heavy foot traffic such as community centers, libraries, and welfare facilities.
Residents wishing to use the safe parcel lockers can request the parcel delivery address to be the ‘Safe Parcel Locker’ address. The delivery person places the item in the locker and sends the locker number and authentication code to the recipient’s mobile phone. The recipient then enters the authentication code into the locker to retrieve the item.
The safe parcel lockers operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The usage fee is free for 48 hours; if exceeded, a fee of 1,000 KRW per day is charged. Detailed information on locker locations and usage can be found on the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office website (Welfare by Category → Women’s Welfare → Safe Parcel Lockers) and the Ansimi app.
Additionally, the district is expanding the illegal filming inspection device rental service to proactively respond to illegal filming crimes in public restrooms and protect residents’ privacy. Not only public restroom owners or facility managers but also general residents can use this service.
The rental service locations have increased from the existing 3 locations (Yeongdeungpo-gu Office (Childcare Support Division), and community centers in Yeongdeungpo Bon-dong and Daerim 2-dong) to 8 locations with the addition of community centers in ▲Yeongdeungpo-dong ▲Yeoui-dong ▲Mullae-dong ▲Yangpyeong 2-dong ▲Singil 6-dong.
Any Yeongdeungpo-gu resident can bring their ID and apply in person at the district office or community centers to rent the illegal filming inspection device free of charge for 5 days. The rental service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and those wishing to use it are advised to check device availability by phone in advance for more convenient service.
Furthermore, the district operates services such as ▲Safe Keeper Houses ▲Safe Return Scouts ▲Ansimi app to create an environment where residents can live with peace of mind.
