The Second Longest 'Longdari' in Korea... Bohyeonsan Dam 530m Suspension Bridge Completed in Yeongcheon, Gyeongbuk
Yeongcheon City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 21st that the 'Yeongcheon Bohyeonsan Dam Suspension Bridge,' the centerpiece of the Bohyeonsan Tourism Belt project, has been completed and will open on the 30th.
On the 30th, a grand opening ceremony will be held from 6:30 PM at the Bohyeonsan Dam Suspension Bridge in Ipseok-ri, Hwabuk-myeon, Yeongcheon City. Along with the ceremony, a commemorative event called the 'Starlight Trekking' will take place, where participants will walk the suspension bridge to the Bohyeonsan Dam trail.
The Bohyeonsan Dam Suspension Bridge is the second longest in South Korea among suspension bridges with the same pier structure, with a total length of 530 meters. The distance between the main towers is 350 meters, making it the largest in the country. The main towers are shaped like an X, symbolizing a star. The two-tower suspension bridge features nighttime landscape lighting that plays like the Milky Way performing to music, offering visitors a special night view experience.
Additionally, around the suspension bridge, a 2.5 km Bohyeonsan Dam trail, a 2,600㎡ waterside plaza, and auxiliary facilities such as parking lots, public restrooms, and a comprehensive information center have been developed. This will make it a representative landmark of Yeongcheon that people of all ages can enjoy amidst the beautiful natural scenery.
