Arrest Warrant Requested for 40s Man Who Disappeared with 50 Million Won Collected Among Colleagues
A woman in her 40s who disappeared with about 50 million won collected from workplace colleagues was arrested by the police.
On the 21st, the Gwangju Western Police Station announced that they had requested an arrest warrant for a woman in her 40s, identified as A, on charges of fraud for embezzling money collected from group members.
A is accused of stealing 52 million won collected by eight coworkers working together at an entertainment establishment in Seo-gu, Gwangju, from July last year to January this year and fleeing.
According to the police investigation, A persuaded her coworkers to join the group to raise a lump sum for investment, but she fled with the collected money due to financial difficulties, and it was reported that she used all the collected money for her living expenses.
She canceled her mobile phone registered under her name and moved using a vehicle registered under another person's name to evade police pursuit, but was eventually caught on the 19th in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
