Gwangju Buk-gu Holds Idea Contest to Address Low Birthrate
On the 21st, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it is holding a contest for 'Low Birthrate Response Ideas.'
The low birthrate response idea contest is a policy that Buk-gu has been promoting since 2020 to raise social awareness about the seriousness of population decline and to improve perceptions of marriage and childbirth.
Especially this year, to increase resident participation, the contest is focusing on ideas for posters aimed at improving positive images of families, targeting elementary and middle school students within Buk-gu.
Posters can be submitted in the size of 4-cut paper without any restrictions on expression techniques or methods, including computer graphics. Submitted works will be evaluated through a first round of resident preference voting and a second round of expert review by October 13, to determine the final rankings.
Prizes will be awarded based on message delivery and creativity, with one grand prize winner, one excellence award winner, and two encouragement award winners in both elementary and middle school categories receiving 350,000 KRW, 200,000 KRW, and 100,000 KRW respectively. Posters selected as outstanding works will be used for online and offline postings in multi-use facilities and various low birthrate awareness campaigns.
Those who wish to participate can submit the required documents through the announcement posted on the Buk-gu Office website by the 15th of next month.
