SK Telecom "Diagnosing Companion Dog Abdominal Diseases with AI 'Excalibur'"
Expansion to Abdomen in Musculoskeletal and Thoracic Diagnosis
Basic and Standard Plans Newly Launched
SK Telecom's animal medical artificial intelligence (AI) service will be expanded to include abdominal diseases in companion dogs.
On the 20th, SK Telecom announced that it will expand the diagnostic scope of its AI-based companion pet X-ray analysis solution, 'Excalibur,' to cover abdominal diseases in companion dogs, and diversify its pricing plans according to usage.
Excalibur is an animal medical AI service in which artificial intelligence analyzes X-ray images of companion animals to assist veterinarians in diagnosis. When an X-ray image of a companion dog taken at a hospital is uploaded to the Excalibur dedicated cloud, the analysis results, including the location of the disease and abnormal findings, are provided within 15 seconds.
SKT has expanded the diagnostic scope by adding the abdomen to the existing diagnostic areas of the musculoskeletal system, chest, and heart size measurement in companion dogs. With the addition of abdominal diagnosis, most major diseases in companion dogs can be detected, which is expected to increase the utilization of Excalibur.
Additionally, to allow animal hospitals to choose optimized pricing plans according to their Excalibur usage, SKT has launched two new plans, Basic and Standard, in addition to the existing premium plan priced at 330,000 KRW per month.
The Basic plan allows for 20 X-ray readings per month at 99,000 KRW, and the Standard plan allows for 40 readings per month at 150,000 KRW. A pay-as-you-go plan (9,900 KRW per reading) will also be temporarily available until March next year to enable small animal hospitals with low usage to use the service without burden.
