First opened in 2013 and now in its 11th year of operation, the 'Jungnangcheon Urban Agriculture Experience Learning Center' is a garden of approximately 6,500㎡ located at the Jungnangcheon Riverside Second Sports Park (under Jang-an Bridge). This year, 27 additional plots were added, operating a total of 927 plots.
Earlier this year, the district recruited 927 participants from local residents for the urban agriculture experience learning center, and in the first half of the year, distributed spring representative seedlings such as lettuce and leafy vegetables.
With the opening for the second half of the year, the district will distribute autumn seedlings to participants of the urban agriculture experience learning center for three days from August 17, the day of the opening ceremony, through August 19.
The seedlings being distributed this time include napa cabbage and radish. Participants will receive seedlings after a simple identity verification. The distribution locations are near the Jungnangcheon Second Sports Park and under Jang-an Bridge. After planting the provided seedlings, participants will cultivate crops until November through maintenance activities such as watering and weeding.
To ensure smooth operation of the urban agriculture experience learning center, the district plans to send timely guidance messages and provide professional support for safe food production, including plowing, eco-friendly pest control, and crop safety inspections.
