Busan Office of Education Enhances Competencies of Teachers in Charge of Digital Literacy Education
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is conducting a 'Digital Literacy Education Textbook Utilization Teacher Training' for 453 teachers in charge of digital literacy education for 3rd and 4th grade elementary students in the district.
This training will be held from the 21st to the 25th at the Busan Education Research and Information Center to support digital literacy education for 3rd and 4th grade elementary students by enhancing teacher capabilities.
The Busan Office of Education is conducting this training using the self-developed grade-specific supplementary textbook "Digital is My Friend," and plans to maximize the use of smart devices by organizing training groups according to the types of learning smart devices distributed to schools.
Thirty-two instructors, including teacher Ahn Hyeong-mo from Noksan Elementary School, will lead the training. They will conduct the training in teams of three, consisting of one main instructor and two assistant instructors.
The 3rd grade training is organized around three themes: ▲ Meeting digital devices in the classroom ▲ Becoming familiar with digital devices in the classroom ▲ Utilizing digital devices in the classroom. The training teaches students how to become familiar with various digital devices such as computers and smart pads and how to use them properly.
The 4th grade training covers ▲ Introducing apps in the class through 'Meeting Apps in Class' ▲ Using apps through 'Becoming Familiar with Apps in Class' ▲ Utilizing apps through 'Let's Participate Together.'
One representative teacher from each participating school and grade will also conduct follow-up training for teachers at their respective schools after the start of the second semester.

Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This training will serve as an opportunity to expand support for elementary SW·AI education in the 2023 school year and to implement customized digital literacy education for each school," adding, "I hope this training will greatly help participating teachers enhance their digital literacy education capabilities."
