Gwanak-gu Fully Supports Recovery of Sillim Station Commercial Area
‘Special Measures for the Recovery of Sillim Station Commercial District’ to Revitalize the Sillim Station Commercial Area
Issuance of special gift certificates, expansion of the Byeolbit Sinsari Commercial District Renaissance Project, promotion of good consumption by Gwanak-gu employees, etc.
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has recently prepared and is implementing ‘Special Measures for the Recovery of Sillim Station Commercial District’ to revitalize the Sillim Station commercial area, which has been facing economic and psychological difficulties such as decreased sales following the recent stabbing incident at Sillim Station.
The main measures include ▲issuance of ‘special gift certificates’ for the recovery of the Sillim Station commercial district ▲expanded operation of the ‘Byeolbit Sinsari Commercial District Renaissance Project’ ▲promotion of ‘good consumption’ by Gwanak-gu employees.
First, the district office plans to issue ‘Special Gift Certificates for the Recovery of Sillim Station Commercial District’ that can only be used within the Sillim Station commercial area. The 2023 first supplementary budget proposal has been submitted to the council, and once the budget is approved, 2 billion KRW worth of gift certificates will be issued by October this year.
The existing ‘Byeolbit Sinsari Commercial District Renaissance Project’ will also be expanded by changing the event schedule and other measures.
The ‘Flea Market and Relay Event Performances’ will start one month earlier than last year, from August 24, and the flea market’s operation period will be extended from 4 days last year to 8 days this year.
The ‘Gwanak Byeolbit Festival,’ which decorates Byeolbitnaerincheon beautifully with splendid lighting to provide various attractions, will extend its duration from one month last year to two months (from November to December) this year, allowing more residents to visit the Sillim Station commercial district.
Additionally, a ‘coupon event’ will be held for customers visiting the commercial district to encourage continuous visits by residents. Along with this, various commercial district revitalization projects such as the Sinsari parking discount coupon project and Sundae Town revitalization project will be promoted.
Furthermore, as part of the ‘2023 Gwanak Gang Gam-chan Festival’ to be held in October at Nakseongdae Park and other locations, various programs will be conducted around Byeolbitnaerincheon near Sillim Station.
These include ▲resident participation booths ‘Gwanak Parade 21’ ▲tightrope walking performance in Namchang-dong ▲and ‘Starry Health Secrets’ in collaboration with hospitals located in Gwanak-gu, attracting many local residents and striving to bring vitality back to the Sillim Station commercial district.
Gwanak-gu office employees are also making collective efforts to help recover the commercial district. Employees voluntarily support the revitalization by practicing ‘good consumption’ at restaurants within the Sillim Station commercial area during meal times, aiming for the commercial district to regain vitality as soon as possible.
