Imsil-gun Holds Integrated Defense Council Meeting for Q3 2023

On the 16th, Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, held the '2023 3rd Quarter Integrated Defense Council' at the comprehensive situation room on the 2nd floor of the county office.

According to the county on the 17th, 16 members of the Integrated Defense Council, including civilians, government officials, military, police, and fire departments, attended the meeting.

The meeting began with watching a security video, followed by an overview of the Eulji Exercise presented by the head of the Military Safety Management Division, a report on the main schedule, and cooperation matters from related organizations during the exercise period. It proceeded with the 2nd Battalion Commander of the 7733 Unit reporting on military operational plans and measures.

The meeting emphasized the importance of the Integrated Defense Council's role amid the recent escalation of North Korea's nuclear threats and served as an opportunity to practice the procedures for declaring an integrated defense situation.

The county agreed that to successfully carry out the Eulji Exercise starting on the 21st, all agencies including civilians, government, military, police, and fire departments should strengthen a mutually organic cooperation system aimed at improving the ability to respond to local provocations, supporting smooth military operations, and minimizing damage to residents.

County Governor Sim Min said, “We must further establish an integrated defense posture through realistic training against uncertain local provocation threats such as North Korea's recent nuclear threats. I urge everyone to prepare so that the lives and property of the military and residents can be protected as a top priority through a close and organic security cooperation system among civilians, government, military, police, and fire departments in any situation.”
