[Harumanbo Harucheonja] "Enjoy Supsokkuljam, Supmeong, and Supsegwon"
‘Upupu’ is the abbreviation of the ‘Our Mountains and Rivers, Green and Greener’ campaign that Yuhan-Kimberly has been carrying out since 1984. By 2022, the number of trees planted and nurtured through the ‘Upupu’ campaign reached 55,406,712, and the plan is to plant and nurture 60 million trees by 2030. The ‘Yuhan-Kimberly Forest,’ created by planting and nurturing over 10 million trees in the Tojin Nars region of Mongolia, also celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. To share experiences in the forest and emphasize the importance of forests, various citizen participation programs involving multiple generations, such as ‘Newlywed Tree Planting,’ ‘Green Camp,’ and ‘Metaverse Upupu Forest,’ have been operated.

The annual ‘Deep Sleep in the Forest Contest,’ held every summer, is a representative event that raises awareness about the sleep deprivation issue among Koreans and highlights the importance of forests. It is widely known that young people suffering from burnout and stress in their busy daily lives can heal in urban forests. Last year, the competition rate reached about 220 to 1. This year’s contest, held on September 15 at ‘Seoul Forest Family Yard,’ has expanded the number of participants from 30 last year to 100 this year. Along with quiet rest in the forest, a mini-concert and various events will be held so participants can enjoy the festival. Two winners who achieve the most stable deep sleep based on heart rate measurements will receive travel vouchers. All participants will be provided with a deep sleep kit along with Yuhan-Kimberly products. Additionally, various event gifts will be given to participants showcasing unique pajama fashion and those participating in other events.

Seoul Forest is a place where Yuhan-Kimberly has been planting and nurturing trees with Seoul Green Trust for 20 years since 2003 for the citizens. Starting from this, it has contributed to securing green spaces within urban areas through neighborhood forest creation and Namsan forest maintenance. Based on this experience, Yuhan-Kimberly has decided to participate in the restoration of trees and green spaces in the Yulgok-ro and Changgyeonggung area over the next three years until 2025.

Since 2018, Yuhan-Kimberly has introduced ‘Our Neighborhood Forest Zone,’ a space where people can get closer to forests for the coexistence of healthy forests and people. They recommend various places where people can enjoy ‘forest zoning out’ (spacing out in the forest) and healing, and hold events that offer prizes for comments and certifications. The recently introduced place is Solbat Neighborhood Park in Ui-dong, Gangbuk, Seoul. It is a place full of healing spots, including tall pine trees in the city, playgrounds, small streams, and walking trails. Other places introduced include ▲Naribunji, where you can enjoy half of Ulleungdo ▲Daecheongho Obaek-ri Trail, famous for its blue lake and silver grass fields ▲Hanam Tree Orphanage, a forest made by gathering abandoned trees, great for playing with children ▲Jeongseon Dorongi Pond, known as the Finland of Gangwon-do for its exotic natural scenery ▲Children’s Grand Park Botanical Garden ▲Goesan Suok Waterfall ▲Jeju Bijarim ▲Asan Bonggoksa Millennium Forest.
