Dongdaemun-gu Hosts the '1st Drone Racing Competition'

Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will hold the "1st Dongdaemun-gu Drone Racing Competition" at 1 PM on September 9th in the multipurpose auditorium on the 2nd floor of the district office.
This competition, held to increase interest and enthusiasm for drones, a core element of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and to foster scientific literacy and a spirit of challenge, is open to anyone registered as a resident in Seoul or currently enrolled in elementary, middle, high school, or university (including graduate school) located in Seoul.
Hosted by Dongdaemun-gu and sponsored by Baekseok University, the Korea Drone Sports Cooperative, and FPV DRONE KOREA, the event will not only feature the competition but also operate a drone experience zone where participants can try flying drones firsthand. The event will be broadcast live through Dongdaemun-gu Office's official YouTube channel.
The drone racing competition will have 16 players who advance through two preliminary rounds compete in the final match, with the final rankings determined by time measurement results.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We expect to provide new attractions to residents through the first-ever drone racing competition held in Dongdaemun-gu,” and added, “We will continue to actively support programs related to the 4th Industrial Revolution to leap forward as a smart future city, Dongdaemun-gu.”
