The independence education camp for protected children is held over a total of four days in two 1-night, 2-day sessions from August 11 to 12 and from August 25 to 26 at Tongyeong Dongwon Resort, targeting 44 protected children in the Gyeongnam region.

This camp consists of seven diverse programs including daily life education, career exploration, and cultural experiences to help protected children develop the skills needed for independence before their protection ends and to smoothly transition into society.

In particular, BNK Gyeongnam Bank provided vivid financial education based on real-life cases that participants might encounter after entering society, receiving positive responses from the attendees.

Kim Yang-sook, Executive Director and Chief Consumer Officer (CCO) in charge of financial consumer protection at BNK Gyeongnam Bank, said, “We are very honored that BNK Gyeongnam Bank can accompany the steps of protected children preparing for independence. BNK Gyeongnam Bank plans to continuously support financial education and other programs so that all youth can become a healthy future of Korea.”

Kim Seong-min, Director of the Gyeongsangnam-do Independence Support Agency, stated, “We hope that the local protected children will grow properly through this camp composed of various experiences. We will continue to plan diverse programs to provide good opportunities for children.”

Meanwhile, about 10 employees from BNK Gyeongnam Bank and the Financial Supervisory Service Gyeongnam branch have been participating in the ‘Expert and Senior Mentoring’ program organized by the Gyeongsangnam-do Independence Support Agency since the first half of the year, conducting monthly one-on-one mentoring sessions with children who have aged out of protection.
