Hana Financial Group, Inauguration Ceremony for the 2nd Phase of the 'Hana Digital Power On Project'

Hana Financial Group announced on the 13th that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 2nd cohort of the youth digital talent development project, 'Hana Digital Power On Project,' at the Incheon Cheongna Hana Global Campus. Sponsored by the Financial Supervisory Service, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, and SK Telecom, the Hana Digital Power On Project is a youth digital talent development program designed to meet the rapidly increasing demand for digital talent across all sectors of society, including finance, due to the acceleration of Digital Transformation, and to provide new opportunities for challenge and growth to the younger generation.
Attending the inauguration ceremony were Lee Bok-hyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service; Eom Jong-hwan, Vice President of SK Telecom; Lee Hun-gyu, Chairman of the Children and Future Foundation; and Ham Young-joo, Chairman of Hana Financial Group. Governor Lee stated, “To respond to changes in the financial environment and lead the financial industry, it is necessary to secure convergent talents who can create innovative ideas encompassing both finance and digital fields,” and added, “I hope Hana Financial Group becomes a continuous channel supplying excellent young digital talents to the domestic financial sector through the Hana Digital Power On Project.”
Chairman Ham said, “We will spare no support to help the young participants of the Hana Digital Power On Project become talents who can fully demonstrate their abilities in the rapidly changing digital environment,” and added, “Hana Financial Group will continue to pay close attention and make efforts toward nurturing young digital talents who will lead future digital financial innovation and creating youth employment.”
Following the inauguration ceremony, a 'Digital New Technology Competition' took place. University student participants, organized into 18 teams, proposed innovative ideas utilizing digital new technologies ABCD?Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Cloud, and Data?to solve various problems that may arise in the financial industry field.
Teams selected through fierce competition in the contest will receive special benefits. First, they will have the opportunity to participate in a project that involves prototype development at a hackathon hosted by SK Telecom, allowing the youth to further concretize their ideas. Additionally, approximately four weeks of customized digital education will be provided, including ▲Google’s AI specialized training ▲Microsoft’s Big Data specialized training ▲Amazon’s Cloud specialized training, along with opportunities to gain hands-on experience through on-site projects at the Hana Financial Convergence Technology Institute.

After the project concludes, at the final performance sharing event, one grand prize-winning team will receive the Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service Award along with a prize of 10 million KRW. Two teams will receive the Excellence Award with 5 million KRW each, two teams will receive the Merit Award with 2.5 million KRW each, and five teams will receive the Encouragement Award with 1 million KRW each, totaling 30 million KRW in prize money. Furthermore, the top four teams will be given opportunities to visit leading global IT companies, and all graduates will be exempted from the document screening process when applying for employment at Hana Financial Group.
