Mapo-gu, a Warm Meal with Volunteer Service ‘Jipbap Project’
On the morning of the 11th, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the ‘Jipbap Project’ at the Daehyeong-dong Community Center hobby class, serving healthy meals to about 20 low-income elderly residents.
The ‘Jipbap Project,’ conducted by the Volunteer Camp, is not merely about serving food but aims to create a space for emotional exchange among marginalized neighbors, providing psychological comfort and restoring relationships with the community.
An elderly participant said, “It was difficult to prepare meals alone during the hot summer, so I am grateful to be served such delicious and healthy food,” and added, “I had a joyful and happy time eating and chatting with neighbors.”
