"60-Year-Old in Haman Arrested and Indicted for Stabbing Neighbor to Death 'For Ignoring Me'"
A man in his 60s was arrested and indicted for stabbing a neighboring resident multiple times with a weapon, resulting in her death, because he felt ignored by her.
According to the Masan Branch of the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office in Gyeongnam on the 11th, Mr. A is accused of stabbing a woman in her 50s, Ms. B, at her residence in Daesari, Daesan-myeon, Haman-gun, at around 8:35 a.m. on July 18, causing her death.
Ms. B, who was the village chief, was known to have shown goodwill by regularly preparing side dishes for Mr. A's son and helping him receive public assistance.
The prosecution believes that when Ms. B avoided Mr. A, who had been behaving inappropriately by suddenly hugging her, Mr. A felt ignored and developed a grudge.
On the day of the incident, Mr. A fled to a nearby mountain immediately after the crime, but as heavy rain fell and the police tightened their cordon, he voluntarily surrendered to the police station around 10:30 a.m., about two hours later.
During the police investigation, Mr. A stated that Ms. B, the village chief, had made remarks that ignored him and did not treat him well, so he took a weapon from his home and went to the victim's house to commit the crime.
