The Changwon Fire Headquarters in Gyeongnam responded to 169 incidents directly caused by Typhoon 'Khanun,' staying close to the citizens of Changwon.
According to the Changwon Fire Headquarters on the 11th, they responded to 169 incidents from the 9th until 9 p.m. on the 10th, including rescuing 2 people, carrying out 110 safety measures, and providing drainage support for 59 cases.
Among these safety measures, there were 4 cases of house flooding, 13 cases of landslides and falling rocks, 69 cases of road obstructions, 3 cases involving signboards, and 21 other safety-related responses. For drainage, 302 tons of water were removed out of the 59 cases supported.
Typhoon 'Khanun' brought heavy rain of 60mm per hour across the entire city of Changwon, causing damage such as road and house flooding and landslides.
The Fire Headquarters immediately responded to citizens' calls and ensured their safety on site. During the typhoon response, three fires also occurred, which were extinguished without any casualties.
On the morning of the 10th, firefighters promptly responded to a report of a woman in her 70s trapped in river water at Gwangryeocheon in Naeseo-eup. They entered the river directly to rescue her and also rescued a woman in her 60s trapped by rising floodwaters at a house in Bongam-dong.
Additionally, firefighters responded to fallen trees, landslides, and other hazards threatening citizens' safety and took appropriate safety measures.
