Gyeonggi Office of Education Publishes Revised Guide for School-Organized Uniform Purchases
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will revise and distribute a guidebook to address difficulties faced by schools in the school-led uniform purchasing project.
The school-led uniform purchasing system, introduced in 2015, allows schools to purchase uniforms by contracting with companies selected through bidding or other methods.
The Office of Education developed improvement measures reflecting challenges at schools, such as difficulties in contract procedures when selecting uniform companies, collusion issues among uniform companies, and dissatisfaction with uniform quality, by involving contract officers at the main office, education support offices, and school staff in charge.
The main points of the improvement plan include ▲proposing various contract methods to prevent collusion among uniform companies ▲adding evaluation criteria related to sanctions against collusion ▲increasing evaluation scores for company selection to improve uniform quality ▲strengthening blind evaluations ▲enhancing the expertise of the uniform selection committee.
The school-led uniform purchasing guidebook is available in the Integrated Data Room of the Education Welfare Division on the Office of Education’s website.
