On the 10th, Gyeonggi-do announced that it signed a 'Bonggong-i Character Utilization Agreement for the Activation of Vulnerable Self-Sufficiency Projects' with three vulnerable self-sufficiency project organizations in the province: the Gyeonggi Regional Self-Sufficiency Center, the Gyeonggi Senior Employment Support Center, and the Gyeonggi Disabled Vocational Rehabilitation Facility Association.
According to the agreement, the province will provide the self-sufficiency project organizations with free usage rights for the government character and also support design consulting. If profits from product manufacturing, distribution, and sales are realized, the sales proceeds will be used as a self-sufficiency fund to support vulnerable groups such as working poor, elderly, and disabled people in the province, as well as to help create jobs.
As a follow-up measure to the agreement, from August 12 to 15, during the '2023 Gyeonggi-do Cultural Seasons - Summer Festival (August 12?20)' held at the former Gyeonggi Provincial Government Building in Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, a Bonggong-i goods shop called 'Bonggong Stationery' will operate to promote and spread products from self-sufficiency organizations.
Gyeonggi-do plans to enhance the provincial brand image and residents' affinity by diversifying the use of Bonggong-i through online and offline communication channels such as social media (SNS) content and events that connect with residents.
They also operate a dedicated Bonggong-i character Instagram (@bonggong.gg.go.kr) to maintain friendly communication.
