Gyeonggi Office of Education Prepares Measures for Approaching Typhoon... Recommends Adjusting Academic Schedule
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held an emergency countermeasure meeting on the 9th and took safety management measures in response to the expected damage caused by Typhoon 'Khanun,' which is moving northward toward the Korean Peninsula.
The Office of Education recommended that school principals actively consider adjusting the academic schedule, such as changing school start and end times or switching to remote classes, if risks are anticipated.
They also urged that parents be promptly informed if there are any adjustments to the academic schedule.
Additionally, a situation management task force was organized under the overall responsibility of the Director of the Education Administration Bureau, and preparations for disaster situations will be made in cooperation with 25 education support offices.
Lee Kyung-hee, the First Deputy Superintendent of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "We will closely monitor the typhoon situation and do our best in pre-inspections and facility management to prevent any damage to students and schools caused by the typhoon."

Earlier, the Office of Education conducted safety inspections of educational facilities during the summer, checking drainage systems, retaining walls, and slopes at 14,087 facilities including schools and affiliated institutions.
