BBIA Co., Ltd., a cosmetics brand well-known among the 10s and 20s generation mainly through online shopping malls such as Coupang, is proceeding with an initial public offering (IPO).
According to the investment banking (IB) industry, BBIA Co., Ltd. recently selected Shin Young Securities as the lead underwriter. They are preparing the final stages related to the IPO with the goal of applying for a preliminary review for new listing in September.
Founded in 2004, BBIA Co., Ltd. operates four brands: color cosmetics brands BBIA, ABOUT_TONE, EGLIPS, and basic cosmetics brand EDIT.B.
The main products are eyeliners and lip tints. The company is expanding its business areas to include basic products and natural cosmetics. Women in their teens and twenties are the primary target, and the repurchase rate is relatively high. The company has 92 employees and sales of approximately 30 billion KRW, exporting to global markets including Southeast Asia such as Vietnam, Japan, China, and Europe.

Now IB Capital's Now M&A Investment Fund No.1 is the largest shareholder, holding 69.47% of BBIA Co., Ltd.'s shares. In 2020, Now IB Capital acquired and merged Sky007 and Biarosa, the predecessors of BBIA Co., Ltd., for over 10 billion KRW through an M&A strategic fund in which the Korea Fund of Funds participated as an anchor investor. BBIA Co., Ltd. has a subsidiary in Japan, SSVR7 Co., Ltd., which owns herb raw material farms such as Lavenda in Japan.
