View original imageGuro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) has launched a special inspection in preparation for the heatwave and the approaching Typhoon Khanun.
Amid record-breaking heatwaves, on the 8th, Mayor Moon Heon-il visited work sites to check the situation on the ground.
He visited Anyangcheon water play area, Gaebong 5th District reconstruction site, the district-run sheltered workshop for the disabled, and the KBS transmission site complex cultural town construction site to encourage workers and listen to their difficulties.
He provided guidance on heat-related illnesses, emergency treatment methods, and action guidelines. Mayor Moon Heon-il said, "Heat-related illnesses are occurring nationwide," and urged officials to "provide sufficient rest time and pay close attention to workers' health and safety."
In addition, Guro-gu conducted a special inspection to prepare for the typhoon.
Mayor Moon Heon-il visited the Guro 2 Rainwater Pump Station, inspected the facility, and instructed to make every effort to maintain safety to prevent typhoon damage.
Guro-gu organized inspection teams for each facility under its jurisdiction to focus on ▲ inspecting flood-prone vulnerable areas and the operation status of flood control facilities ▲ inspecting disaster-vulnerable facilities (areas) ▲ pre-inspection to prevent damage from strong winds ▲ preventing casualties along riversides.
To prepare for flooding, underground pedestrian tunnels, road drainage channels, and pump facilities were inspected, and preemptive measures were taken to prevent rainwater inlets from being blocked by soil discharged from construction sites and mountainous areas. Odor prevention covers on rainwater inlets will also be removed to prevent road flooding.
They checked steep slopes, landslide risk areas, retaining walls, and embankments, and strengthened patrols of vulnerable facilities by inspecting outdoor temporary facilities, signboards, and sunshades in preparation for strong winds.
Additionally, safety management at construction sites within the area was reinforced, and an emergency contact system was maintained.
They confirmed the broadcasting and communication status of river early warning facilities and access control facilities, and utilized river patrol teams to implement full control proactively when weather warnings are issued.
Minor issues found during inspections will be addressed immediately, and if maintenance is required, temporary measures will be taken followed by prompt repairs.
