KOSPI Steady During Session... KOSDAQ Down Over 1% Due to Decline in Secondary Battery Stocks
The KOSPI index is showing a flat trend during the session. The KOSDAQ index continues to decline by over 1%, led by drops in secondary battery-related stocks.
As of 10:01 AM on the 7th, the KOSPI index is trading at 2601.77, down 0.04% from the previous day.
By investor type, institutions are net sellers with 78.3 billion KRW, while foreigners and individuals are net buyers with 40.8 billion KRW and 31.1 billion KRW respectively. In the futures market, institutions and individuals are net sellers with 147.1 billion KRW and 225.6 billion KRW respectively, whereas foreigners are net buyers with 378.3 billion KRW.
Sector performance is mixed. The service sector is up 3.01%, paper and wood 2.16%, securities 0.99%, insurance 0.8%, pharmaceuticals 0.58%, electrical and electronics 0.14%, finance 0.2%, and telecommunications 0.06%. On the other hand, steel and metals are down 2.93%, medical precision -1.88%, non-metallic minerals -1.67%, and transportation equipment -1.55%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics is up 1.32%. SK Hynix is up 2.41%, Samsung Biologics 0.63%, and NAVER 7.16%. Conversely, LG Energy Solution is down 2.04%, POSCO Holdings -3.7%, LG Chem -2.04%, and Samsung SDI -1.1%.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is trading at 906.94, down 1.25% from the previous day. By investor type, institutions and foreigners are net sellers with 44.7 billion KRW and 124.9 billion KRW respectively, while individuals are net buyers with 185.3 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM and EcoPro are down 6.18% and 4.94% respectively, dragging the overall index down. L&F is down 4.91%, POSCO DX -7.66%, with most secondary battery-related stocks showing weakness. On the other hand, Celltrion Healthcare is up 0.44%, JYP Ent. 1.67%, HLB 1.46%, and Celltrion Pharm 0.22% are on the rise.
