Kishida: "Hope to Strengthen Ties with the US and Korea through the ROK-US-Japan Summit"
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed hope that the upcoming trilateral summit between South Korea, the United States, and Japan, scheduled for the 18th, will serve as a foundation for strengthening ties with the US and South Korea.
On the afternoon of the 4th, Prime Minister Kishida spoke at the Prime Minister's Official Residence in Tokyo regarding the trilateral summit to be held at Camp David in the United States on the 18th, stating, "I hope this meeting will further strengthen the foundation of enhanced cooperation with the US and South Korea, which has been built multilayeredly, including at the leader level."
Prime Minister Kishida emphasized the significance of this trilateral summit by saying, "This is the first standalone summit, not held in conjunction with an international conference."
Regarding the agenda to be discussed at the summit, he said, "While refraining from premature conclusions, I expect the strategic coordination among the three countries?South Korea, the US, and Japan?to be further strengthened on issues such as responding to North Korea and maintaining and reinforcing a free and open international order based on the rule of law."
