BPA Selected as an Excellent Organization for the 'Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill' Two Years in a Row
Busan Port Authority (BPA) was selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in the evaluation of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's '2023 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training' on the 3rd.
The Safe Korea Training is a government-wide disaster preparedness exercise conducted annually under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This year, it was carried out in three sessions from June to November.
A total of 335 organizations, including central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions, use this training to check their response systems for various disaster fields.
BPA, as a participant in the first session, conducted the training jointly with Yeongdo District Office of Busan on June 14.
During the training process, BPA checked the response systems for different situations through tabletop and field exercises, including initial response, recovery, and restoration for a fire at a multi-use facility and a ship accident caused by a typhoon.
A total of about 250 personnel from 15 related organizations of Busan Port, including government and public institutions such as Busan Maritime Police Station, Port Fire Station, Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation, as well as private organizations like Yeongdo District Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group and Volunteer Center, participated to reaffirm their roles and cooperation systems.
