Jamboree Participant Leader CBS Radio Interview
"It's Harder Because Basic Conditions Are Not Met"
A leader participating in the 2023 World Scout Jamboree held in Saemangeum, Buan-gun, Jeonbuk, expressed, "It feels harder because basic conditions have not been resolved."
A, a leader with 17 years of experience, appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 4th and said, "When we held regional events, we experienced this kind of heat a lot, but we managed by resolving basic conditions."

He said, "Originally, at the World Scout events, it is standard that electricity does not come in, so there is no electricity within the camp area, making it impossible to install air conditioners or fans," adding, "Ice had never been supplied before, but last night, for the first time, a block of ice was provided in the evening."
He continued, "The toilets are portable, and when we first arrived, they were so dirty that we couldn’t even use them," and added, "Since the issue of inadequate jamboree facilities has been widely reported on the internet, they have become much cleaner now."
However, laundry facilities are still not available. A said, "We have to wash sweat-soaked clothes, but we are told to handle everything at the drinking water station," and explained, "It’s too dirty and cramped, so the scouts are unable to do their laundry."
Regarding a statement made the previous day by a Jeonbuk provincial assembly member, who said something to the effect of "They were raised too delicately and complain a lot," A criticized, "It is the role of adults in society to provide positive experiences and new opportunities for youth," and added, "Even if they feel that way, it is inappropriate to make such remarks as a public official."

Furthermore, A called for improvements rather than an early termination of the event.
