Yu Byeong-eon's Second Son Yu Hyeok-gi Repatriated to South Korea 9 Years After Sewol Ferry Disaster
Yoo Hyuk-ki, the second son of former Samho Group chairman Yoo Byung-eun, will be repatriated to South Korea.
The Ministry of Justice announced on the 3rd that, following the criminal extradition procedure, it will receive custody of Yoo from U.S. authorities and repatriate him to Incheon International Airport at 5:20 a.m. on the 4th.

Previously, after the Sewol ferry disaster in 2014, the prosecution issued a red notice through Interpol and requested criminal extradition for Yoo, who had not returned from the U.S. Yoo was arrested in the U.S. in July 2020 and was subjected to an extradition trial. Recently, with the U.S. side's final approval of Yoo's extradition, the repatriation was finalized.
