International Youth Soccer Competition to Battle in Gurye
Nogodanbae Gurye Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament
10 International Teams, 94 Domestic Teams, 1300 Participants
Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the '2023 Nogodanbae Gurye Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament' will be held for 9 days from the 10th to the 18th at the Gurye Public Stadium area.
Hosted by the Korea Sports for All Football Association and organized by the Gurye-gun Sports Council, this tournament will feature a total of 104 teams with about 1,300 participants, including 1 team from Timor-Leste, 2 teams from Thailand, 7 teams from Japan, and 94 domestic teams.
The tournament will be conducted in group pool leagues by age groups: 5 teams for 9-year-olds, 12 teams for 10-year-olds, 19 teams for 11-year-olds, 36 teams for 12-year-olds, and 32 teams for 13-year-olds. Based on the results, teams will be divided into Championship and Friendship leagues and compete in a knockout format to determine the winners.
This Gurye tournament is expected to showcase the skills and intense competition of youth players from both domestic and international teams through the medium of soccer. Korean youth players who place in the tournament will have the opportunity to qualify for overseas training camps and participation in international competitions.
Kim Soon-ho, the county governor, said, “I hope this tournament will be a great opportunity for young soccer hopefuls to fully demonstrate their skills.”
