CJ CheilJedang Expands Sales of 'Ultib Vegan Protein' to Convenience Stores
Achieved Sales of 290,000 Units Within One Month of Online Launch
CJ CheilJedang announced on the 2nd that it has started selling two types of high-protein plant-based beverages, ‘Altive Vegan Protein’ (Choco and Coffee flavors), at convenience stores.
Altive Vegan Protein is a new high-protein beverage product launched last month by ‘Altive,’ CJ CheilJedang’s first in-house food venture brand specializing in plant-based drinks. Made from 100% plant-based proteins such as brown rice, peas, and sword beans, it provides 21g of protein per pack (equivalent to about 3.5 eggs) without concerns about lactose, fat, or cholesterol. It contains no sugars and includes plant-based ‘L-arginine,’ an essential amino acid that makes it suitable for consumers who are mindful of diet management or exercise.
Although initially launched through online channels with limited sales outlets, Altive Vegan Protein has gained popularity by selling 290,000 units within a month of release. Notably, it ranked first in real-time rankings within two hours of opening funding on Wadiz and achieved over 100 times its funding goal (approximately 55 million KRW), drawing attention in the plant-based protein beverage category.
With the summer season approaching, the company plans to expand communication with consumers through various festivals. Altive products will be promoted and offered for direct experience at events such as the ‘Busan Water Music Festival’ and the ‘Hangang·Busan Night Walk.’ Additionally, a YouTube live commerce broadcast will be held at the end of this month in collaboration with influencers.
