3 Emergency Patients in Island Village, 2 Cases of Navigation-Obstructing Vessels Urgently Dispatched
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kim Hae-cheol) has been making every effort to respond swiftly to emergency patients in island villages and vessels obstructing navigation that occurred consecutively over the weekend holidays.
According to Mokpo Maritime Police, at around 6:54 a.m. on the 31st, resident A (in his 80s) showing symptoms of respiratory distress on Majindo Island, Sinan County, was quickly transported to Bokho Pier on Anjado Island, Sinan County, using a patrol vessel.
Mokpo Coast Guard is swiftly transporting an emergency patient from Majindo, Sinan-gun to the mainland on the morning of the 31st.

Earlier, on the 30th at 6:38 p.m., patient B (in his 70s), suspected of partial airway bleeding after falling into the sea near Gwanmaedo Island, Jindo County, and injured patient C (in his 50s), who was poked in the eye by a tree branch, were safely transported to Seomang Port, Jindo, using the coastal rescue boat from the police substation.
A total of three emergency patients were transported to the mainland with the help of the maritime police over the weekend, and they were reportedly transferred to large hospitals located in Gwangju and Mokpo for treatment.
Additionally, on the 30th at 1:13 p.m., Mokpo Maritime Police received a report that fishing vessel D (4.3 tons, 1 crew member) near Imjado Island, Sinan County, was unable to navigate due to marine debris entanglement. They dispatched a coastal rescue boat to the scene to assist with debris removal operations.
Meanwhile, on the 29th at 8:28 p.m., due to shallow waters and strong winds near Heuksando Island, Sinan County, to prevent secondary safety accidents, the maritime police towed fishing vessel E (4.19 tons, 4 crew members), which was obstructing navigation, using a coastal rescue boat, focusing on safety management.
