Laying the Foundation for Revitalization Around Nangok Sageori in Gwanak-gu
Gwanak-gu Announces Revision of Nangok Sageori District Center Unit Plan
Announced on July 27, Plan Established Including Zoning for Activation of Low-rise Streets
Foundation Laid for Revitalization of Nangok Sageori Area in Preparation for Opening of Nangok Line
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) announced on the 27th that Seoul City has officially declared the 'Nangok Sageori District Center Unit Plan Area and Plan Decision (Change)'.
In this announcement, the district expanded the eastern and northern boundaries of Nangok Sageori to reflect the central area range presented in the 2030 Seoul Living Area Plan, laying the groundwork for revitalizing the Nangok Sageori area in response to changing local conditions, including preparation for the future opening of the light rail Nangok Line.
In particular, to encourage activation of low-rise streets, the plan designates the first floors of newly constructed buildings for recommended uses such as general restaurants and cafes. Additionally, the plan relaxes zoning regulations to allow office facilities and knowledge industry centers with a floor area of 3,000㎡ or more, which were previously only permitted in quasi-residential areas or higher, to be constructed in the third-class general residential area.
Furthermore, for proactive urban management planning, special planning district guidelines were established for vacant sites within the area, including the former site of Geumcheon Police Station and the area above Sinbong Tunnel.
Going forward, the district plans to continuously strive to create a vibrant and pleasant urban space.
