On the 27th, the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced that after analyzing Cho’s portal site search records, who is suspected of murder and other charges, they confirmed that he searched for terms such as 'Hong Kong random murder,' 'forced hospitalization in psychiatric hospital,' 'escape from psychiatric hospital,' and 'psychiatric hospital admission costs' in early last month.
A police official stated, "We received search records from January 1 of this year until now, and they were concentrated in early June. There were no meaningful search records related to the incident in July."
The 'Hong Kong random murder' refers to an incident on the 2nd of last month at Plaza Hollywood shopping mall in Hong Kong, where a man in his 30s wielded a weapon, killing two women in their 20s. The police are reviewing the connection between Cho’s portal site search records and the crime based on his statements and the course of the crime.
